President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Thursday canceled his planned trip to southern Puno region due to bad weather.
"Bad weather did not allow us to land in Juliaca. Friends in
Puno, I regret very much that I can't be with you today," the statesman posted on Twitter.
According to the Head of State, he will travel to the South Andean region next Thursday.
While in Puno, Mr. Kuczynski was supposed to announce the construction of 10 wastewater treatment plants, intended to
decontaminate Lake Titicaca basin and improve the region's quality of life.
Likewise, he was going to oversee the implementation of the 2017-2018 cultivated pastures installation campaign and recognize Uros and Uros Chulluni communities, as ancestral, indigenous, and native peoples of the Inca country.
President Kuczynski was joined by lawmakers Kenji Fujimori, Sergio Davila, and Lucio Avila on the occasion.
Via Twitter, the son of former President Alberto Fujimori recalled he had not been on the presidential plane for 18 years.
