President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Thursday affirmed all Peruvian families should be given the opportunity to have a good education.

Remarks were made during a ceremony marking the inauguration of Francisco de Zela School in Peru's southern city of Tacna.

"Education not only implies knowledge but also values. We have to learn about the truth, about honesty, so that a society like the Peruvian one functions [adequately]. That is essential," the statesman expressed.

Moreover, President Kuczynski said more hours of technology classes are required. He also supported the idea of having more educational institutions operating one shift.

"We are working all over Peru, and we want Tacna —Peru's leader in education— to continue its leading role," he added.

Peru's top official wished a great school year to all students and teachers, mainly those from Tacna.

Also, prior to the school visit, he supervised the construction of Hipolito Unanue Hospital.
