Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Friday underlined the consolidation of economic relations with the European Union (EU), a major trade and investment partner for the Inca country. The trade balance between both parties exceeds US$11 billion.
Both delegations agreed on the relevance of promoting the fight against climate change, which President Kuczynski reiterated as a priority for Peru given its vulnerability to its effects.
In this sense, EU members addressed Peru's efforts in terms of environmental public policies and national strategies.
The meeting also covered the role of the technical and economic cooperation the European Union provides to the Andean nation.
The meeting saw the presence of an INTA delegation chaired by Bernd Lange including Adam Szejnfeld, David Campbell, Inmaculada Rodriguez-Piñero, Ramon Jauregui, Nadja Hirsch, and Helmut Scholz.
The PETI delegation was composed of members such as Renate Weber, Carlos Iturgaiz, Angela Vallina, Bodil Valero and Gabriela Zoana.
