Lima, Jun. 18 (ANDINA). Nick Vujicic, renowned limbless speaker, will be awarded tomorrow by the Municipality of San Borja, in recognition to his motivational contribution to the world, and will also offer a speech to disabled veterans of the Peruvian Army.
The event, in which Father’s Day will also be celebrated, will be held at 07.30 hours at the Parque Olímpico (Olympic Park) of San Borja in the corner of San Borja Sur and Boulevard avenues, next to the Pentagonito, and will feature the attendance of mayor Alberto Tejada.
Before turning 10 years old, overwhelmed by the mockery and disdain from the schoolchildren in Melbourne (Australia), Nick Vujicic tried to commit suicide in his bathtub.
He wallowed and immersed his head in the water but didn’t achieve his goal; instead, he realized how good he could swim. That was his turning point. “God brought me here for a reason,” he told himself and continued.
Today, aged 27 and with two major degrees, this Australian preacher has become one of the most successful motivational speakers around the world.
