Toyota was the market leader in Peru with 13,441 units (17.7 percent of total sales), followed by Hyundai with 10,604 units (14 percent), Kia with 7,999 (10.5 percent) and Nissan with 6,733 units (8.9 percent)
Chevrolet with 6,441 units (8.5 percent), Volkswagen with 3,381 units (4.5 percent), Suzuki with 3,232 units (4.3 percent), Mitsubishi with 1,465 (1.9 percent) and Renault with 1,158 units (1.5 percent) complete the list.
Sales of new light vehicles accounted for 66 percent of the total sold in May with 10,858 units. The car segment was led by Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Chevrolet and Nissan.
Meanwhile, sales of light commercial vehicles accounted for 22 percent with 3,686 units, heavy vehicles represented 11 percent with 1,741 units and passenger buses accounted for two percent with 257 units.
