Garcia noted that in the last years, the bilateral relations with Peru have strengthened in the economic field due to the presence of several Brazilian enterprises in the country.
Moreover, said relations have also strengthened in the social sphere due to the experience of Brazil with the social program “Brasil Sin Miseria” (Brazil without Misery).
The Brazilian authority stressed that said program has lifted some 40 million people out of poverty, and they wish to share this with the Minister of Social Inclusion and Development Carolina Trivelli.
“We want to share all these experiences with Peru (…) However; we are also interested in strengthening the political cooperation. Peru is a very important country due to its natural weight, for its location in the Pacific and its position in favor of the strengthening of the South America unity,” he said.
