The tremor hit at 00:21 hours (05:21 GMT) and its epicenter was at 15 kilometers west of Pisco with a depth of 44 kilometers.
The intensity of the quake was felt at 2-3 MMI (Modified Mercalli Intensity).
According to local authorities of Civil Defense, no damages or injuries have been reported.
Peru is geographically located in the so-called Ring of Fire Pacific Ocean, where 85 percent of global seismic activity occurs.
