"We have taken measures to prohibit and penalize child abuse and we are pursuing these abusive that steal the innocence of our kids," he said during the presentation of the 2012-2021 National Plan of Action for Children and Adolescents.
He said the plan, including national policies for children, will be supported by all branches of the State and asked Peruvian families to do the same.
To that end, he said, an important multisectoral budget is in the works to address the basic problems facing children, with the participation of the ministries of Education, Health and Social Development and Inclusion, and under the leadership of the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations.
The president went on to say that the government is taking actions to address the problem of children being trained by terrorist remnants in the Apurimac and Ene Rivers Valley (VRAE) area.
"We are taking concrete measures to rescue all the children who are being exploited by terrorist insanity with the complicity of their parents," he added.
