The Lima Stock Exchange's General Index declined 1.81% to end at 20,871.12. The blue-chip Selective Index ended 1.35% lower at 30,081.69.
Financial holding company Credicorp Ltd. fell 0.31% to end at $123.87. It owns Peru's largest bank, Banco de Credito.
Precious metals miner Compania de Minas Buenaventura SAA fell 3.35% to end at $35.51, on a decline in the price of gold.
Base metals miner Southern Copper Corp. lost 3.80% to end at $29.10, on weaker copper prices, while copper miner Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde SAA eased down by 1.84% at end at $37.30.
Meanwhile, the sol closed slightly stronger at PEN2.668 per U.S. dollar, compared with PEN2.669 in the previous session.
So far this year, the sol has appreciated 1.08% against the greenback, Dow Jones Newswires reported.
