Carlos Quiroz Nieto, head of Arequipa's Cultural and Social Management Department said that since 2007 Arequipa organizes this parade to promote folklore dances from this region.
"Last year, delegations from provinces of Caravelí and La Union, who traveled around 20 hours, participated in the event and caught people's attention as most of the dances were never seen before in the city," he told Andina news agency.
The dancers, will arrive from the provinces of La Union, Condesuyos, Caravelí, Castilla, Caylloma, Camana, Islay and Arequipa.
The regional parade will start at España square, then go along the streets of Siglo XX, San José, Peral, Perú, San Camilo, Piérola and Santo Domingo.
It will proceed through General Moran street, Arequipa's town hall, San Agustin, Arequipa's cathedral and will end at San Francisco church.
