“Wonders of the World: Machu Picchu”, filmed by American Ashley Colburn, earned a
nomination for best historical documentary.
Peru's export and tourism agency PromPeru invited Colburn to Machu Picchu last year, on the occasion of the Unesco World Heritage site's 100th anniversary in the public eye.
"Filming in Peru was an experience that changed my life, it was a great honor to explore Machu Picchu on its centennial year. This is a place everyone should visit at some point in their lives," said Ashley Colburn.
"It was also the first time the series was shot entirely in HD and 3D. So I am very grateful to PromPeru and everyone who supported us and made this possible," she added.
The 38th Annual Pacific Southwest Emmy Awards ceremony will be held on June 16 at La Costa Resort & Spa in Los Angeles, California.
